A little about me

Hi, I'm Shea — the founder of Soul Roots, a candle and home fragrance brand born from my love of fragrance and the feeling it brings to a space.

Between a full-time career, motherhood, and the everyday busyness of life, I found myself craving something that was just for me. Creating candles became a creative outlet, a way to slow down, and a reminder that it's okay to make space for the things that bring us joy.

What started as a love for candles grew into something more meaningful than I ever expected.

More than a candle

I've always believed scent has a way of making a space feel like home. It can shift the mood of a room, bring comfort to a familiar moment, or turn an ordinary evening into something worth savoring.

For me, it's lighting a candle after the house finally settles, taking a breath, and finding a few quiet moments before tomorrow begins.

Those small moments matter. They remind us that we don't have to wait for life to slow down to find a little stillness within it.

That's the feeling I hope to share through Soul Roots.

Hand-poured in small batches in my home studio in Brownstown, Michigan, every Soul Roots candle is made with care, intention, and a thoughtful approach to ingredients.

Our candles are crafted with a coconut-soy wax blend selected for a beautiful, slow-burning experience, paired with carefully curated fragrance oils chosen to bring warmth, depth, and character to your space.

We believe what goes into your candle matters just as much as how it makes you feel. That's why we prioritize fragrance oils formulated without phthalates, parabens, and ingredients identified as carcinogens, and that meet applicable California Proposition 65 requirements.

From the wax and fragrance to the vessel and finishing details, every element is thoughtfully considered. The result is a candle designed to become part of your everyday rituals — bringing a little calm, comfort, and intention to the spaces you call home.
